Dalio Philanthropies supports a number of organizations aimed at deepening community around the arts, music, and culture. We believe there is a strong connection between one’s health and happiness and the quality of one’s community connections.
Dalio Philanthropies is a long-time supporter of organizations that preserve and promote the art of jazz music, such as Preservation Hall and Jazz at Lincoln Center. Since its founding in 1961, Preservation Hall has been working in the French Quarter of New Orleans to preserve New Orleans Jazz traditions and care for elder musicians. Jazz at Lincoln Center in New York City works to promote a global community of jazz through education, advocacy, and performance including through their annual concert series and nightly concerts.
Dalio Philanthropies also supports a number of museums and cultural centers that create opportunities for exploration and appreciation of the arts, including the Museum of the City of New York, The Whitney Museum of American Art and the Perelman Center for the Performing Arts.
Another organization we support that is dedicated to providing a space for collaboration and unbounded creativity for the community is Pioneer Works. Collectively led by scientists and artists, Pioneer Works’ programming spans performing arts, music, technology, science, and exhibitions, and a majority of their offerings are available to the public for free.
We also support organizations that provide a platform for diverse voices, educational programming, and community engagement, such as New York Public Radio and the Metropolitan Opera Association’s Radio Broadcast program.
In our surrounding communities, Dalio Philanthropies has made contributions to parks, historical societies, and libraries as they offer opportunities for gathering and community building. We have also supported food pantries and shelters that provide our community with the basic necessities and compassionate care that everyone deserves. Organizations we have supported include but are not limited to Washington Square Park Conservancy, the Greenwich Historical Society, the Greenwich Library, Woodlawn Conservancy, the Bowery Mission, and Desda’s Grate.
