Community and the Arts
The Dalio family feels a strong connection to its community and wants to support it in a number of ways.
Numerous studies have shown that there is a strong correlation between one’s health and happiness and the quality of one’s community connections. The Dalio family and Dalio Philanthropies support numerous community organizations including the Greenwich Council Boy Scouts of America, Bruce and Byram Parks, the Greenwich Historical Society, the Greenwich Library, Neighbor2Neighbor, the Greenwich Adult Daycare, Dresda’s Gate, the Bowery Mission, New York Public Radio, the United Methodist City Society, Washington Square Park Conservancy, and the Woodlawn Conservancy, among others. In addition, music and the arts play an important role in building community, which is why we support the arts both locally and nationally. Supported organizations include Jazz at Lincoln Center, the development of the Perelman Center for the Performing Arts and the Whitney Museum of American Art.
Total support from Dalio Philanthropies and the family for community and arts organizations to date exceeds $233 million.
