Access and Education

Dalio Philanthropies invests in projects that empower the next generation to succeed in the digital economy by expanding access to technology and information, and teaching kids and young adults 21st-century skills like coding and computer science.

Every day, technology allows us to do amazing things: Learn new skills. Ignite our imaginations. Build our futures. But billions of kids still lack access to the simple tools and technology that would allow them to succeed in today’s digital economy.

We have identified three big three challenges in the quest for digital empowerment – device access, offline internet, and teaching 21st century skills — and we seek out partners who offer bold, outside-the-box hypotheses around how to tackle these issues.

Dalio Philanthropies has supported organizations such as Save the Children, UNICEF, International Medical Corps, World Possible, Foundation for Learning Equality, Gnome Foundation, Girls who Code, TED, xPrize, Common Sense Media and Games for Change in connection with these interests. To date, support for these efforts is about $15 million.
